weekends in the city: saturdays

well – at the moment, none in the house appear to have either a cold or flu AND it hit 52 earlier today! the groundhog definitely saw his shadow and we’ll be lighting all the candles in the house tonight – mid-winter – half-way through and counting.

Gorgeous day in boston – out early this am to coolidge corner to see a live performance of alice in wonderland by the makeshift theatre company – really good!!! lots of kids, high energy, awesome costumes, amazing actors, witty script. jack’s favorite character was the queen of hearts – hmmm… and he was thrilled to be able to shake her hand as he left the theater (sighed when i passed the poster for there will be blood). met aunt c and uncle l for a lunch of rice and beans after and then stopped into party favors to order jack’s pirate cake – many people stopping in to pick up patriot’s cakes for tomorrow’s super bowl parties. boston takes sports mania to a whole new level.

got up at 230am, couldn’t sleep, woke ernesto up and we came down to watch stardust – such a sappy, romantic little movie – very lighthearted and entertaining. up again at 7am with jack  – life with children does not occur according to any normal clock
